Ajax *LOCAL* Doberman Pinscher Young Male in Wakefield, Rhode Island

My story

Age: 14 months (as of 7/3/2021) Weight: 65 lbs (as of 7/3/2021) Location: RI

This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped.

This handsome hunk is looking for a new place to call home!

Ajax is a lovely, 13 month old dog, and fabulous in so many ways:  he is attentive and eager to please, smart as a whip, friendly and loving, responsive to commands, and a natural cuddlebug in a 65lb-sleek-like-a-stallion body.  His home manners are nearly perfect, but like many of us after this last year of pandemic, Ajax's social skills are a little out of practice, so for right now, he is looking for a low traffic household with either one calm, well socialized dog or no other dogs.  Ajax will make a fabulous companion for a single person or couple who loves the game of fetch, cuddling and walks (jogging or trail running would be even better!!!)  He will thrive in a household with no young/multiple children and in a neighborhood that is low traffic/density.  And the cherry on top?  Ajax has pulled at the heart strings of a very generous rescue angel:  for the right home, up to $1000 of post-adoption training will be sponsored for Ajax to work on his newly-developed leash reactivity.

Ajax just needs the right home where he can show himself to be the best dog he can be.

Ideally, his forever home will be relatively quiet without much foot traffic or many visitors, at least in the first few months.  He would also probably prefer a suburban or rural setting more than an urban one with constant stimuli.  With proper socialization for his specific needs, we know he can become a great canine citizen.

Ajax has not lived with children, and based upon his brief controlled visits with them, we don't recommend that he live full time with children.  Visiting and older children who are quiet, respectful, and closely managed should be fine.

We haven't seen Ajax around

cats.  Ajax can be something of a couch potato at times, and he loves snuggles, but he also loves toys and the game of fetch!

Ajax is house and crate trained.  He is used to being left alone for a few hours at a time and is non destructive when left loose.  A

fenced yard would be ideal for Ajax so he can practice his game of fetch (he will go for 30-45 minutes sometimes!), but if that's not available he will need daily

leash walks, runs and/or trail hikes.

Does Ajax sound like your missing piece?  Don't miss out on this handsome hunk!  Apply now!
